[ECB Governing Council Member Casimir: The market may underestimate the extent of further interest rate hikes] On November 2, Peter Casimir, the European Central Bank Governing Council Committee and Slovak Central Bank Governor, said that the market may underestimate the tightening measures that the European Central Bank needs to take to bring inflation back to its target and maintain it at the target level. He pointed out that the impact of energy prices has not subsided, inflation has risen again, and upward risks cannot be ignored; slowing economic growth may not be enough to curb inflation on its own. Casimir said that last week's suspension of interest rate hikes by the European Central Bank was not the end of the tightening cycle. The key now is not just whether to take further action, but how much more interest rates need to be raised. European Central Bank President Lagarde previously stated that the policy direction is clear.
