[Wang Yi met with Aung Kyaw Ho, Minister of National Planning, Investment and Foreign Economic Affairs of Myanmar] On November 3, 2026, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met in Beijing with Aung Kyaw Ho, Minister of National Planning, Investment and Foreign Economic Affairs of Myanmar, who was in China to attend the 11th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
Wang Yi said that China and Myanmar are Paukphaw brothers who share weal and woe, and a community with a shared future that helps each other. In June this year, President Xi Jinping held an important meeting with President Min Aung Hlaing, who was on a state visit to China. Both sides agreed to accelerate the construction of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future. China supports Myanmar in achieving political reconciliation and supports the new Myanmar government in stabilizing the situation, developing the economy, improving people's livelihood, and achieving revitalization. China has always been a strategic partner that Myanmar can rely on and is willing to work with Myanmar to promote the deepening and solidification of the construction of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
Wang Yi said that the two sides should coordinate development and security, steadily advance key projects of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, strengthen cooperation in energy resources and other fields, intensify efforts to combat online gambling and electronic fraud, and prevent the resurgence of chaos in Myawaddy. He hoped that Myanmar would take practical measures to safeguard the safety of Chinese personnel, institutions, and projects in Myanmar.
Aung Kyaw Ho said that Myanmar upholds the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, carries forward the traditional friendship between Myanmar and China, and always adheres to the one-China principle. President Min Aung Hlaing successfully visited China not long ago, which effectively promoted the development of relations between the two countries. Myanmar thanks China for its post-earthquake reconstruction assistance and is willing to join hands with China to accelerate the implementation of the Myanmar-China Economic Corridor project and continuously enhance the level of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. Myanmar will intensify its efforts to work with China and regional countries to combat telecommunications fraud. More Chinese companies are welcome to invest and start business in Myanmar. We thank China for upholding justice for Myanmar on international occasions and are willing to work with China to actively promote the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers' Meeting to be a complete success.
