[This round of global bond sell-off is brutal but nowhere near as good as 2022] On September 2, the global bond market sell-off pushed yields to multi-year highs, but the range of this round of fluctuations is only a fraction of the market at the end of 2022. Global government bond yields rose by 17 basis points on a rolling basis on the 20th, compared with 62 basis points in 2022. For seasoned market watchers, the relatively mild swings in yields so far provide some comfort; some note that at current yield levels, yield-seeking investors can start to consider allocating to bonds.
