[Saudi Aramco plans to expand the east-west oil pipeline] November 3rd, Amin Nasser, president and CEO of Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), said on the 3rd that the company has been exploring the expansion of the east-west oil pipeline that bypasses the Strait of Hormuz, and preliminary engineering design has been launched. The East-West Oil Pipeline transports crude oil produced in Saudi Arabia's eastern oil-producing regions to ports along the Red Sea coast in the west, and was called a "critical lifeline" by Nasser. Nasser said Saudi Aramco is also planning to expand overseas oil storage capacity and open more crude oil export routes.
