[Trump faces a grim midterm exam] November 4th, the United States will hold midterm election voting on November 3rd local time. Against the backdrop of high inflation and rising living costs, the Trump administration faces a grim "midterm exam" in its second term. In this midterm election, Republicans and Democrats will compete for all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate. Voters will also elect local public officials such as governors in 36 states and members of state assembly in some states.
Before this midterm election, Republicans controlled both houses of Congress. Based on the number of congressional seats before the election, the Democratic Party can seize control of the House of Representatives by adding 3 seats. In the Senate, the competition between the two parties is quite fierce in seven states including Maine, Texas, and Michigan. The Democratic Party needs 4 more seats to gain a 51-seat majority.
