[National Development and Reform Commission: During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, China will build approximately 2,500 kilometers of national high-level water transport channels] On November 4, the National Development and Reform Commission held a series of press conferences for the "15th Five-Year Plan" to introduce the situation of consolidating development support. Xia Xin, director of the Infrastructure Development Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that water transportation is a heavy-haul channel for low-cost transportation. During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, China will build about 2,500 kilometers of national high-grade waterways, more than 100 automated terminal berths of 10,000 tons and above, and basically build a modern water transportation system. Key tasks. Build world-class ports, enhance the shipping services, industrial support, and resource allocation capabilities of world-class port clusters in the Bohai Rim, Yangtze River Delta, and Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, optimize and enhance the bulk material and other transportation functions of major ports, strengthen the connectivity of the inland water transport system, systematically improve the navigation capacity of the Yangtze River trunk line, and steadily open up the navigation bottlenecks of key inter-provincial waterways. Major projects. Accelerate the construction of a world-class international shipping center in Shanghai, optimize and upgrade the Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao port clusters, actively develop the southeast coastal port cluster and the Beibu Gulf Rim port cluster, and build a new Three Gorges water transport channel.
