[The U.S. Treasury Department fine-tunes its bond issuance guidelines, suggesting that the scale of tenders may change in the future] On November 5, the U.S. Treasury Department adjusted the guidelines for the issuance of medium- and long-term Treasury bonds that have been in use since the beginning of 2024. On November 4, local time, the U.S. Treasury Department stated in a statement that based on current projected financing needs, the scale of medium- and long-term Treasury bond bidding is expected to remain unchanged "in the next few quarters." Crucially, Treasury removed the word "at least" that had previously placed it before this period. The new wording means that short-term Treasury bond tenders may increase, while long-term Treasury bond issuance may shrink.
