[Capital Group: Global dividends totaled US$546 billion in the third quarter, raising full-year dividend forecast to US$2.24 trillion] On November 5, the "Dividend Watch" report released by Capital Group showed that global dividends totaled US$546 billion in the third quarter of 2026, setting a record for the third quarter in previous years, with a core growth of 7.5% year-on-year. After adjusting for currency, special dividends and other technical factors, core growth in the first nine months of the year was 7.0%. Within a few days, 88% of companies increased or maintained dividend payments, with the median dividend increase reaching 5.9%. The data reflects an overall improvement in dividend momentum, rather than just being driven by a handful of very large dividend-paying companies. Total dividends increased modestly by 4.9% in the third quarter, mainly due to the negative impact of foreign exchange fluctuations and a one-time special dividend decrease of nearly US$7 billion compared with the same period last year. Capital Group expects global dividends to total US$546 billion in the third quarter, raising its full-year dividend forecast to US$2.24 trillion.
