[New robotic small bowel endoscope enables integrated diagnosis and treatment] On November 6, engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States developed a new type of robotic small bowel endoscope. It can flexibly travel through the narrow small intestine like a snake, grab the inner wall of the intestinal tract with the help of a special coating, and can also complete operations such as imaging examinations, drug delivery, tissue sampling, and polyp removal, providing a new tool for the diagnosis and treatment of small intestinal diseases. Relevant research was published in the new issue of the magazine "Scientific Robotics".
