[National Energy Administration: During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the average annual increase in China's electricity demand is expected to reach approximately 600 billion kilowatt-hours] On November 6, the National Development and Reform Commission held a series of press conferences for the "15th Five-Year Plan" to introduce the situation related to building a secure foundation. Ge Ju, deputy director of the Development Planning Department of the National Energy Administration, said that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, driven by emerging industries such as computing power, China's electricity demand will continue to grow rigidly, and the average annual increase is expected to reach about 600 billion kilowatt-hours, equivalent to the electricity consumption of three new Shanghai cities every year. In order to ensure power supply, we have established an early warning mechanism for power supply adequacy, proposing that the power supply adequacy in 2030 will be greater than 1.1, which means that at the peak of power load, there will still be a 10% margin of supply capacity to ensure that we can "withstand the peak and cover the bottom" at critical moments.
