[Julle Madise was elected as the new president of Estonia] On September 2, the Estonian Parliament held a presidential election on September 2, local time. Jules Madise won the majority support from the parliament in the first round of voting and was elected as the new president of Estonia, becoming the second female president in Estonian history. Jules Madise is the only official candidate in this round of presidential elections. She will succeed current President Aral Khalis.
