[Iran’s Speaker: The U.S. will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until the U.S. fulfills its commitments] On September 2, Iranian Speaker Qalibaf stated that the U.S. must fulfill its relevant commitments before Iran will take action to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Qalibaf said when meeting with officials from the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) that day that Iran does not reject negotiations, but sees negotiations as a tool of struggle.
