[Iran’s Speaker: The U.S. will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until the U.S. fulfills its commitments] On September 2, Iranian Speaker Qalibaf stated that the U.S. must fulfill its relevant commitments before Iran will take action to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Qalibaf said when meeting with officials from the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) that day that Iran does not reject negotiations, but sees negotiations as a tool of struggle. Qalibaf also said that during the discussion on the first article of the Iran-US memorandum of understanding, Iran demanded an end to the war against Iran and its "Resistance Front" allies, while the 15 articles initially proposed by the other party required Iran to completely cease missile, nuclear and "resistance" activities. Qalibaf emphasized that Iran and the "Resistance Front" will continue to oppose the United States and Israel. (CCTV News)
