[Sales volume of Japan’s four major automakers in the United States decreased slightly year-on-year in August] September 3rd, Japan’s four major automakers announced on September 1 that their total new car sales in the United States in August were 446,315 units, a decrease of 2.4% from the same period last year. Toyota sales were 215,556 units, a year-on-year decrease of 4.4%; Honda sales were 133,996 units, a year-on-year increase of 1.0%; Subaru sales were 62,028 units, a year-on-year increase of 1.3%; Mazda sales were 34,735 units, a year-on-year decrease of 8.9%.
