1. As of midday closing, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Index rose 0.43%, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index rose 0.39%, and the ChiNext Index rose 0.43%.
2. Hong Kong stocks closed at noon, with the Hang Seng Index up 0.02% and the Hang Seng Technology Index down 0.56%.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, on the morning of September 2, International Trade Negotiator and Vice Minister Li Chenggang met with a delegation from the Board of Directors of the U.S.-China Business Council.
