The focal depth was 25 kilometers, and the epicenter was located at 40.02 degrees north latitude and 83.68 degrees east longitude. We learned from the Xinjiang Fire and Rescue Corps that the nearest town to the epicenter is Gaizikumu Township, Shaya County, about 120 kilometers away, and about 150 kilometers away from Shaya County. The epicenter is located in an uninhabited area in the desert of the Tarim Basin, and no earthquake was felt in Shaya County. After verification with the area dispatchers, local public security, emergency and other departments, there are currently no casualties or house collapses, and no relevant police reports have been received.
