[Total Energy completes the acquisition of 40% interest in the PEL83 block in Namibia] September 3rd, local time, September 3, Total Energy announced the completion of the transaction reached with Galp in December 2025, acquiring 40% of the operating interest in the PEL83 license in Namibia. The block contains the giant Mopane oil and gas discovery, in which Total Energy will hold 40%, 40%, 10% and 10% interests respectively with Galp, Namcor and Custos. Total Energy stated that the company has now become the operator of two major oil discoveries in Namibia and plans to start Mopane evaluation drilling in the second half of 2026 and implement a three evaluation well plan, with the goal of making a final investment decision (FID) in 2028.
