[China-led international standard project for smart city artificial intelligence application successfully established] September 4th, according to the State Administration for Market Regulation, recently, the China-led international standard proposal "Sustainable Development of Cities and Communities - Artificial Intelligence Application in Smart City Operation Models Part 2: Principles and Elements" (ISO 37127-2) was successfully approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Artificial intelligence is deeply integrated with urban governance and has become a key technology to improve the efficiency of urban governance. This standard aims to build a systematic governance framework for artificial intelligence applications in smart city operations, clarify core elements such as governance systems, implementation paths, collaboration mechanisms, and effectiveness evaluations, and strive to solve the dilemma of "technology and no rules" in cities. At the strategic management level, the standard plans to put forward guidelines for risk supervision and performance monitoring; at the public service level, the standard plans to put forward implementation guidelines for the integration of personalized and inclusive services; at the resource management level, the standard plans to put forward guidelines for data governance and resource collaborative layout to comprehensively promote the construction of an inclusive, transparent, and responsible urban AI governance system. The standard will be jointly developed by experts from 16 countries including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Malaysia, Brazil, and Iran.
