The relevant regulations are expected to be announced within a month. The Thai government stated that this move aims to establish unified and clear regulatory standards to ensure the sustainable development of the data center industry. Data shows that Thailand has approved 88 projects related to AI and data centers in the first half of 2026, with a total investment of 886 billion baht (approximately US$27 billion), exceeding the investment scale of 623 billion baht in the whole of 2025. The Thai government is considering raising electricity prices for large data center operators and stepping up scrutiny of projects in densely populated areas.
