[BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. and BMW Brilliance Automobile Co., Ltd. recall some imported and domestic cars] September 4th, BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. and BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products" and the "Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products". 1. BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. Recall number S2026M0091V: Starting from October 30, 2026, some imported 2 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, X4, X5, X6 and Z4 cars produced between February 22, 2021 and April 29, 2025, a total of 93,071 vehicles will be recalled. For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to starter production reasons, abnormal wear may occur inside the starter after the vehicle is started multiple times, making it difficult to start the vehicle. In extreme cases, it may cause an internal short circuit in the starter, causing local overheating, posing a risk of fire. BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the vehicles within the recall scope with improved starters free of charge to eliminate safety hazards. BMW Brilliance Automobile Co., Ltd., BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. Recall number S2026M0092V: Starting from October 30, 2026, some domestic 5 Series cars produced between December 11, 2017 and August 28, 2020 will be recalled, a total of 57,423 vehicles. Recall number S2026M0093V: Starting from October 30, 2026, some imported 7 Series cars produced between June 29, 2016 and January 18, 2018 will be recalled, a total of 364 vehicles. Some vehicles within the scope of this recall have poor waterproof performance of the engine starter relay due to design reasons. When the vehicle is wading in water, water may enter the relay, causing circuit corrosion and causing an internal electrical short circuit. In extreme cases, it may cause local overheating of the starter, posing a risk of fire. BMW Brilliance Automobile Co., Ltd. and BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the vehicles within the recall scope with improved starters free of charge to eliminate safety hazards. BMW Brilliance Automobile Co., Ltd., BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. Recall number S2026M0094V: Starting from now, some domestic X1, X5 and 5 series cars produced between May 15, 2023 and April 30, 2024, a total of 157 vehicles, will be recalled. Recall number S2026M0095V: Starting from now, some imported X2, X6, X7, 5 Series, 7 Series, and MINI JCW Countryman cars produced between July 6, 2022, and June 25, 2024, a total of 61 vehicles will be recalled. This recall is another recall of the "BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd., BMW Brilliance Automobile Co., Ltd. and Beam Automobile Co., Ltd. recall some imported and domestic vehicles" issued on September 11, 2024 and November 22, 2024. For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, there may be operational deviations or software download abnormalities during the implementation of the above-mentioned recall activities, resulting in the failure of the vehicle software to be successfully upgraded to the target version. If there is a potential risk in the integrated brake booster device (DSCi), it will not be able to send out early warning information through the vehicle system as expected, posing safety risks. BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. and BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will reinstall the on-board diagnostic software for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge. The software can monitor potential risks of DSCi and issue early warning messages through the vehicle system, prompting users to return to the store to replace DSCi parts for free to eliminate potential safety hazards.
