[Ministry of Water Resources: Tibet’s Jilong Barrier Lake has normal river flow and the glacier lake is overall stable] On September 6, the Ministry of Water Resources reported that hydrological emergency monitoring showed that there were no obvious changes in the small-scale landslides downstream of the Purepqiang Zangbo Barrier Lake in Jilong, Tibet. The river flow was normal, and the mountains on both sides of the river were significantly affected by debris flows. There is still a risk of further collapse of the landslide to form a new barrier lake. The flow upstream and downstream of the Cuojian River impact crater in Nepal is normal. The 14 glacial lakes investigated in the early stage are generally stable. It is expected that from September 6th to 8th, there will be light to moderate rain around the Geelong Port, with a cumulative precipitation of 10 to 30 millimeters, and a flow rate of about 180 to 250 cubic meters per second at the Geelong Port. The Ministry of Water Resources reminds frontline workers to pay attention to changes in rainfall and river water conditions in a timely manner and make preparations for relocation and avoidance in advance.
