[China exported 12.91 trillion yuan of mechanical and electrical products in the first eight months, a year-on-year increase of 21.9%] September 8, according to customs statistics, in the first eight months of 2026, China’s total import and export value of goods trade was 34.78 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.6% (the same below). Looking at key commodities, in terms of exports, in the first eight months, China exported 12.91 trillion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 21.9%; 2.74 trillion yuan of labor products, a decrease of 0.6%; and 492.03 billion yuan of agricultural products, an increase of 4.2%. In terms of imports, in the first eight months, China imported 6.21 trillion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 31.6%; 321 million tons of crude oil, a decrease of 14.6%; and 1.04 trillion yuan of agricultural products, an increase of 6.6%.
