[Cold function test of Unit 4 of Huaneng Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant was successful] On September 8, the cold function test (cold test) of Unit 4 of Huaneng Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Phase II Project concluded recently. During the test, the pressure boundary of the unit was complete and reliable, the system sealing was excellent, and all test parameters met the standards. The successful cold test marked that Unit 4 has officially entered the commissioning stage, laying a solid core foundation for the unit's subsequent high-quality production and power generation. Huaneng Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Phase II Project is a pillar energy security project for Hainan to accelerate the construction of a free trade port with Chinese characteristics. Once completed and put into operation, it will greatly enhance the energy supply capacity and the proportion of clean energy in Hainan. The project uses the "Hualong One" technology with China's independent intellectual property rights to build two pressurized water reactor nuclear power units with a single unit capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts. After the construction of the project, the annual clean electricity transmission will reach 18 billion kilowatt hours, which is equivalent to reducing the annual standard coal consumption by 6.326 million tons and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 11.68 million tons.
