[Multiple departments issued a notice to expand the scale of basic medical insurance participation for flexible employment personnel and other groups] On September 8, six departments including the National Medical Insurance Administration, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Transport jointly issued a notice to launch a special action to improve the quality of basic medical insurance for flexible employment personnel, migrant workers, and people with new employment forms. It is planned to take about three years to continue to expand the scale of basic medical insurance for flexible employment and other groups, with a focus on increasing the number of employees covered by medical insurance. China will push for megacities to lift household registration restrictions for people with flexible employment insurance. On the basis of ensuring a balance between the income and expenditure of the medical insurance fund, various localities can refer to the basic pension insurance payment base for local employees to reasonably determine the medical insurance payment base for flexible employment personnel. For those with flexible employment who participate in employee medical insurance, the payment period can be accumulated on a monthly basis, and every 12 months is converted into one year of payment period.
