[Zimbabwe suspends antimony and tungsten exports to promote local processing] September 8th, Zimbabwe banned the export of antimony and tungsten with immediate effect. This is one of the country's government's measures to promote mining companies to carry out more mineral refining and processing locally. Thomas Ushe, secretary of the Ministry of Mines of Zimbabwe, wrote to the state-owned Zimbabwe Minerals Marketing Corporation, and the export of ores and concentrates was also suspended. Like Guinea, Ghana, Congo (DRC) and other African countries, Zimbabwe is striving to obtain higher economic returns from its natural resources.
