[Japan wants to develop tactical AI satellites] September 8th, according to the "Nihon Keizai Shimbun" recently disclosed that the Japanese Ministry of Defense has a new military space plan to develop tactical AI satellites to equip long-range missiles with space intelligent reconnaissance systems. According to the public research and development plan, the Japanese Ministry of Defense will cooperate with local military industrial enterprises to develop experimental models of tactical AI satellites from 2027 to 2029, and conduct in-orbit testing in space as soon as fiscal year 2030.
