On September 8th, local time, British Prime Minister Burnham, French President Macron, and Canadian Prime Minister Carney issued a joint statement that day, condemning Israel’s expansion in the West Bank and calling for the implementation of the “two-state solution.” The statement said that resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through a "two-state solution" is crucial to peace, stability and security in the Middle East and the wider region, and is also in the fundamental interests of the UK, France and Canada. The systematic expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, including the Israeli government’s decision to build settlements in Area E1, as well as Jewish settler violence, pose a direct and urgent threat to the vision of peace. The statement said that Britain, France and Canada have officially recognized the state of Palestine and are committed to safeguarding the "two-state solution".
