[Zhongzhi Research Institute: New and second-hand housing transactions in Beijing and Shanghai maintained a certain level of activity in August] September 9th, in August, Beijing and Shanghai property market policies were optimized one after another. According to statistics from the China Index Research Institute, 14,000 second-hand commercial housing units were sold in Beijing in August, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%; the transaction volume of second-hand commercial housing in Shanghai remained high, with a year-on-year increase of 16.3%; in terms of new homes, the transaction area of newly built commercial housing in Beijing in August was basically the same as the same period last year, and Shanghai increased by 16.0% year-on-year. Cao Jingjing, general manager of the index research department of China Index Research Institute, believes that the Beijing-Shanghai property market is more reflected in the recovery with active transactions and marginal improvement in supply and demand relations. Prices are still in the adjustment channel, the scale of new home inventory is still at a relatively high level, and the sustainability of the market recovery remains to be seen.
