[Google plans to invest at least 13 billion euros in AI facilities in Finland, its largest single investment in Europe] September 9th, Google plans to make its largest investment in Europe, building artificial intelligence infrastructure worth at least 13 billion euros ($15.1 billion) in Finland. The company said in a statement on Wednesday that investments over the next two years will include building at least three new data centers, as well as expanding its existing data center in the southeastern city of Hamina. "Google is honored to further deepen our presence in Finland with the company's largest single investment in Europe," chief investment officer Ruth Porat said in a statement. The move is part of Alphabet’s move to accelerate the expansion of AI computing power. The Silicon Valley giant in July raised its capital spending forecast for this year to as much as $205 billion as it battles rivals for dominance in AI.
