[The Central Bank of Iran plans to establish a foreign exchange investment fund] On September 9, the media quoted the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdel Nasser Hemati, as saying that the Central Bank of Iran plans to establish a foreign exchange investment fund. The fund is designed to absorb foreign exchange funds to finance unspecified "economic activities and income-generating projects." Investors invest foreign currency into the fund without having to convert the currency into rial. Hemati did not say which investors the fund is open to, nor the size of the fund. Fund subscription will start next week.
