[The European Commission proposed the "European Innovation Act" to promote the commercialization of scientific research results] September 10th, the European Commission proposed the "European Innovation Act" on September 9, aiming to promote the faster commercialization of scientific research results and enhance the EU's innovation capabilities and economic competitiveness. This reform will start from both financing and R&D procurement, including establishing a unified intellectual property valuation framework at the EU level, building an intellectual property trading platform, providing commercialization support, and improving the R&D procurement mechanism to help innovative companies reduce obstacles in the process from R&D to commercialization. The European Commission estimates that relevant measures can bring about an additional 10.2 billion euros in financing and 25.92 billion euros in corporate profits each year, and save about 35 million euros in administrative costs and 1 billion euros in public procurement expenditures.
