[The U.S. Department of the Treasury announces sanctions on Iran-related individuals and entities] September 11th, the U.S. Department of the Treasury issued a statement on September 10, local time, saying that as part of its "economic isolation actions" against Iran, the Office of Foreign Assets Control under the department will include individuals and entities that provide support for Iran's proxy network in the Middle East on the sanctions list. The sanctions targets include members of the Lebanese Hezbollah. On August 24, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent announced that the United States would launch a new round of "economic isolation" sanctions against Iran that day to further increase pressure on Iran.
