[Contrary to investors, economists expect the Federal Reserve to remain on hold] September 11th, a survey showed that most economists expect the Federal Reserve to keep interest rates unchanged at this month’s meeting and remain on hold until the end of 2027, although market bets on raising interest rates have heated up. Economists believe that cooling inflation and the approaching U.S. midterm elections may prompt policymakers to keep interest rates unchanged at the September 15-16 meeting and hold off again in October. Of 48 economists surveyed from September 4 to 9, only 13 expected a rate hike this month.
