Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Bank of America Corp., Bank of New York Mellon Corp.'s wealth management unit, JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Wells Fargo & Co. have been in talks with Anthropic, and the company is seeking to provide employees with a list of advisers who can help them manage the vast fortunes they expect to gain, according to people familiar with the matter. Representatives for the banks and Anthropic declined to comment. Anthropic requires institutions to describe their wealth management businesses and disclose details about fees, services and other operations, some people familiar with the matter said. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the communications are not public. Anthropic has issued a request for information in recent weeks, and a number of smaller boutique agencies and advisory firms have also responded. While Silicon Valley has produced scores of new millionaires, Anthropic is the latest company expected to create vast wealth for its employees through its IPO, many of whom may not know how to manage it. SpaceX raised $86.2 billion when it went public, and Anthropic is expected to raise as much or more than SpaceX when it goes public in the coming weeks. Laird Norton Wetherby's Brandon Smith said it was "very reasonable" to expect Anthropic's listing to create a new class of millionaires. The company submitted information to Anthropic and has communicated with several of its employees. "Artificial intelligence has grown so much in a short period of time that even if they only got the equity two years ago, the amount of money they end up with is probably going to be huge," he said. "It's like winning the lottery."
