[SCO Digital Economy (Ministerial Level) Seminar opens in Beijing] September 12th, SCO Digital Economy (Ministerial Level) Seminar opens in Beijing on the afternoon of September 11. Yu Ying, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the National Data Administration, presided over the opening ceremony. Tang Ying, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, and Chen Runyun, Vice President of the International Business Officials Training Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Important foreign guests such as Seloussa Insishimmai, Deputy Minister of Technology and Communications of Laos, Maam Onno, State Secretary of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia, Ibrahim Hamid, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Transport and Trade of the Maldives, attended the opening ceremony and expressed their appreciation and welcome to the seminar. 24 students from 11 countries including Laos, Cambodia, Maldives, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Belarus, Mongolia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan participated in the seminar. This seminar lasted for 7 days and was held in Beijing and Urumqi. It took the form of combining "theoretical teaching + field investigation + interactive discussion". The seminar combined the common concerns and actual needs of the SCO countries in developing the digital economy, and set up special courses around public data applications and digital government construction, digital large-scale model scenario applications, and city-wide digital transformation. It also conducted exchanges on Chinese practices in the fields of digital infrastructure construction, industrial digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and data element market cultivation.
