[Africa hosts Olympic event for the first time] September 13th, the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympic Games flame arrived at the venue of the event - Dakar, the capital of Senegal, on September 12th. Senegalese President Faye and International Olympic Committee President Coventry attended the torch welcoming ceremony. According to event organizers, the torch relay in Senegal will start on the 14th. The Dakar Youth Olympic Games will be held from October 31 to November 13. This is the first Olympic event held in Africa. About 2,700 athletes are expected to participate.
