[China’s innovative aquaculture practices unveiled at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s Committee on Fisheries] September 13th, the 37th session of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s Committee on Fisheries was held in Rome, Italy, from September 7th to 11th. During the meeting, China held a side event on the theme of aquaculture to share China's practices in green farming, technological innovation and other aspects with representatives from many countries and international organizations. During the meeting, China and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations co-hosted a side event on "Promoting Aquaculture Innovation and Jointly Promoting Green and Sustainable Development". Representatives from multiple aquaculture countries and international organizations conducted exchanges on topics such as technological innovation, regional cooperation and development. The Chinese side focused on China's exploration and practice in the fields of sustainable breeding, modern facilities and equipment, and digital management. In 2025, China's aquaculture output will be 63.26 million tons, accounting for 83% of the total aquatic product output. In recent years, new technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and deep-sea breeding equipment have accelerated their entry into China's aquaculture production, promoting the transformation of traditional breeding into a green and intelligent direction.
