[Bank of Korea: Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix contributed to the latest 99% increase in KOSPI] September 14th, a report showed that as the KOSPI index continues to rise, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix’s contribution to the index’s rise continues to increase. When KOSPI rose from 5,000 points to 6,000 points, the two companies' combined contribution rate was 50.8%; from 6,000 points to 7,000 points it rose to 73.2%; from 7,000 points to 8,000 points it rose to 94.6%; and when the index rose from 8,000 points to 9,000 points, the two companies' contribution rate reached 99.0%. On the contrary, when KOSPI fell from 9100 points to 5500 points, the two companies also contributed 69.3% to the index decline.
