[National Bureau of Statistics: In August, the output of lithium-ion batteries, industrial robots, and 3D printing equipment products increased by 57.2%, 34.6%, and 29.9% year-on-year respectively] September 15th, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in August, the added value of industries above designated size nationwide increased by 5.2% year-on-year, 0.7 percentage points faster than last month; month-on-month growth was 0.54%. Divided into three categories, the added value of the mining industry decreased by 1.4% year-on-year, the manufacturing industry increased by 6.1%, and the electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industry increased by 4.9%. The added value of the equipment manufacturing industry increased by 12.1% year-on-year, and the added value of high-tech manufacturing increased by 16.7%, which were 6.9 and 11.5 percentage points faster than the added value of all industries above designated size respectively. In terms of economic types, the added value of state-controlled enterprises increased by 3.0% year-on-year; joint-stock enterprises increased by 5.7%; foreign and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-invested enterprises increased by 3.4%; private enterprises increased by 3.7%. In terms of products, the output of lithium-ion batteries, industrial robots, and 3D printing equipment increased by 57.2%, 34.6%, and 29.9% respectively year-on-year. From January to August, the added value of industries above designated size nationwide increased by 5.3% year-on-year. In August, the manufacturing purchasing managers index was 49.8%, and the enterprise production and operation activity expectation index was 53.8%. From January to July, the national industrial enterprises above designated size achieved a total profit of 4,582.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.6%.
