[The cumulative trading volume of China's carbon market has reached nearly 1 billion tons] September 15th, the 2026 China Carbon Market Conference was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province today (15th). The Ministry of Ecology and Environment released the "National Carbon Market Development Report (2026)" at the meeting. The report shows that the activity of the national carbon emissions trading market continues to remain at a high level. From January to August this year, the transaction volume and transaction value of the national carbon emissions trading market increased by 46.53% and 67.64% year-on-year respectively. As of the end of August this year, the cumulative transaction volume of the national carbon emissions trading market was nearly 1 billion tons, with a transaction volume of more than 60 billion yuan.
