[Hong Kong vigorously increases the supply of public housing] September 16th, Hong Kong Chief Executive Lee Ka-chiu announced today (September 16) the "First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2026-2030)." Li Jiachao said that we will vigorously increase the supply of public housing and promote the "Long-term Housing Strategy" in an all-round way. Long-term housing demand projections are updated every year, and a ten-year housing supply target is set that is extended year by year in response to social, economic, and market changes. The housing supply plan for the next ten years will be based on "public rental housing accounts for 40%, subsidized sale units account for 30%, and private residences account for 30%." We are committed to continuously optimizing policy arrangements from the three aspects of "supply-oriented", "making good use of public housing resources and encouraging the upper class" and "improving the property ownership ladder and promoting home ownership by young people", and strive to build a new pattern of more sustainable multi-level housing supply.
