[Full text of the Federal Open Market Committee's September 16 meeting statement] On September 17, the full text of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) policy statement issued by the Federal Reserve is as follows: The Federal Open Market Committee voted 12 to 0 to approve the issuance of the following statement. The committee decided to increase the federal funds rate target range by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4% to support the Federal Reserve's dual missions. The Committee continues its policy of maintaining adequate reserves in the banking system. Economic activity is expanding at a solid pace. Domestic spending has been resilient, although uncertainty remains elevated partly due to geopolitical developments. Productivity growth is strong and capital investment is strong. Employment growth has kept pace with the labor force, while the unemployment rate has also been little changed. Inflation remains high. Today’s policy action will support a more timely return to the Commission’s 2% target. The Commission will achieve price stability.
