[Middle East supply risks intensify and European natural gas prices rise for the third consecutive day] On September 2, the conflict between the United States and Iran resumed, and expectations for the short-term resumption of energy transportation in the Strait of Hormuz cooled. European natural gas prices rose for the third consecutive day. Benchmark futures rose as much as 4.3% on Wednesday, before giving back part of their gains, with prices still close to intraday highs since January 2023. European natural gas inventories are currently only 65%, the lowest level since records began in 2009; the region needs to attract more LNG cargoes to replenish inventories before winter.

[Bypassing the Strait of Hormuz, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates LNG cargoes switched to ship-to-ship transshipment] September 2nd, data from ship tracking agencies Vortexa and Kpler showed that in recent weeks, three batches of liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes loaded in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates were transshipped outside the Strait of Hormuz through ship-to-ship (STS), and then shipped to India and Japan respectively. Among them, an LNG carrier controlled by the Greek shipping company GasLog completed a ship-to-ship transfer with the "GasLog Savannah" offshore Oman at the end of August. The second cargo involved the Al Rekayyat LNG carrier controlled by Qatar Energy. The ship was hit by projectiles near the Strait of Hormuz in early July and completed a ship-to-ship transfer with another Qatari LNG carrier "Tembek" on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates in mid-August. Kpler data shows that the LNG cargo initially loaded at Ras Laffan was then transported by the "Tembek" to the Dakhj Terminal in India and arrived on August 31. The third shipment came from the United Arab Emirates. The LNG carrier "Mraweh" controlled by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) loaded LNG from Das Island in early August, and then completed a ship-to-ship transfer with the "LNG Enugu" in the offshore waters of Oman and outside the Strait of Hormuz in mid-August.

[The periodic gas injection volume of the Dagang Oilfield gas storage group exceeds 2 billion cubic meters Another record high] August 29th, according to the Dagang Oilfield Tianjin Gas Storage Branch, so far, the cumulative gas injection volume of the Dagang Oilfield gas storage group in this round of gas injection cycle has exceeded 2 billion cubic meters, completing 90% of the overall gas injection plan, an increase of 8% from the same period last year. The cycle gas injection volume has once again set a new historical record, providing sufficient "basic gas" to ensure the supply of natural gas in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in winter.
