[Chinese researchers use a new minimally invasive surgical method to treat heart failure patients] November 1st, the heart is called the engine of the human body, and the heart valves are called the "valves" on the engine. If this "valve" does not close completely for a long time, the heart may fall into heart failure. For heart failure patients with valvular insufficiency, if they could not undergo thoracotomy in the past, they could only rely on drugs to delay the progression of the disease. Now there is another possibility: replacing the valve with a minimally invasive method. Relevant research results were published in the international academic journal "Circulation" on October 31. This study was led by the team of Professor Zhang Junjie and Professor Chen Shaoliang from the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Nanjing First Hospital. Studies show that patients spend less time in the hospital and have a better quality of life after their valves are replaced using minimally invasive methods.
