To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon series, SanDisk recently announced the launch of two co-branded storage devices officially authorized by Pokémon International, namely the SanDisk Pokémon USB-C Flash Drive Fantasy Edition and the SanDisk Pokémon Portable SSD Mewtwo Edition. The two new products combine SanDisk's storage performance with the two classic Pokémon images of Mew and Mewtwo, targeting user groups such as creators, collectors, and Pokémon trainers.
This joint product adopts an appearance design that echoes the character, and the surface of the device is equipped with a three-dimensional tactile 2D pattern of Dream or Mewtwo. SanDisk said that the new product is designed to adapt to the current user habits of managing digital content across mobile phones, tablets and computers. It can be used to back up event photos, organize game screenshots, transfer creative files, or expand storage space for compatible devices; it also has certain collection attributes.
Among them, the SanDisk Pokémon Portable SSD Mewtwo Edition focuses on high performance and large capacity. This product draws design inspiration from Mewtwo's sense of power, with a maximum read speed of up to 1000MB/s. Officials claim that the speed can be up to five times that of traditional portable hard drives. The product also has a drop protection capability of up to 2 meters, making it suitable for storing large files such as photos, videos and various creative projects. This mobile SSD is available in 500GB and 1TB capacity versions.
Another SanDisk Pokémon USB-C flash drive Dream Edition emphasizes compactness and portability. Its design is inspired by the lightness and dexterity of dreams. It adopts a pocket-style body and provides up to 128GB storage capacity. It is compatible with mobile phones, tablets and computers that support USB-C interface, making it convenient for users to store, transfer and access photos, videos and daily files between different devices.
Susan Park, vice president of consumer product management at SanDisk, said that Pokémon has continued to inspire creativity, imagination and emotional connection among users of different generations for many years. On the occasion of Pokémon's 30th anniversary, SanDisk hopes to use this product to create a commemorative device that matches the legacy of this IP. She pointed out that Mewtwo and Mewtwo have both iconic and powerful images and are widely known. SanDisk combines the appeal of the two with its own performance and reliability, hoping to provide fans with new ways to preserve important moments, memories and creative achievements.
