Abstract:
iPhone Duo is about to be officially released, and Apple has now begun accepting applications and games compiled by developers using Xcode 27.1 and optimized for iPhone Duo. Detailed instructions follow. In the past few weeks, Apple has launched multiple beta versions of Xcode 27.1 to support developers in compiling and debugging applications and games for iPhone Duo. Today, Apple officially released the first release candidate version (RC1) of Xcode 27.1. Developers can download it from the official website.
Earlier tonight, Apple announced on the Developer News Center that developers can now submit apps and games for iPhone Duo in App Store Connect.
After compiling or recompiling using Xcode 27.1, the App Store product page will automatically display a unique logo to inform users that this app has been optimized for iPhone Duo.
Apple also clarified hard requirements: starting from April 2027, all applications and games submitted to App Store Connect must upload iPhone Duo device screenshots.
In the same announcement, Apple added that: You only need to recompile existing applications with Xcode 27.1 to obtain iPhone Duo development adaptation capabilities; developers can use the device simulator (Device Hub) to preview the running effect of the App in different folding shapes, horizontal and vertical screen states of the new machine.

iPhone Duo will be available for pre-order on October 16th (Friday), and will be officially shipped and sold in offline stores on October 23rd.
