Apple may sign long-term agreement with Kioxia NAND, 3- to 5-year contract with no price cap

📅 2026-09-07

Abstract:

According to TrendForce reports,

Apple has recently shifted to signing long-term supply agreements (LTA) for NAND flash memory purchases. This is undoubtedly a significant change in strategy for Apple, which has always been known for its strong bargaining power.

Previously, long-term supply agreements were mainly concentrated in the HBM field, and are now being gradually extended to DRAM and NAND flash memory.

Kioxia has long been regarded as an important supplier and partner of Apple, and there are rumors that the two parties have signed a long-term supply agreement for NAND flash memory.

Other sources pointed out that

the agreement may far exceed the conventional supply contract, with a term of three to five years and no price ceiling. Such terms have only appeared in SK Hynix's orders before.

The current market focus is whether Apple will extend its long-term agreement strategy to the DRAM field after locking in NAND supply. Potential partners include Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron, and Apple is likely to be planning in advance for future LPDDR5X and LPDDR6 purchases.

In addition,

Apple has scheduled to hold an autumn new product launch conference at 10 a.m. Pacific time on September 9, 2026 (1 a.m. on September 10, Beijing time), with the theme of "Surprise and shine".

This launch is also John Ternus’s first show as CEO. It is expected that a new generation of iPhone 18 Pro series and folding screen Ultra series mobile phones will be launched.
