Apple's first foldable screen iPhone Duo launch day, some models have a premium of 1,500-2,500 yuan

Abstract:

On October 23, Apple’s first foldable screen mobile phone iPhone Duo was released today, with National Bank pricing starting at 15,999 yuan. This year's iPhone Duo adopts the same "online pre-order, offline pickup" mechanism as the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Apple Store clerks said that the store does not provide ready-made products for direct purchase, and users who do not hold an order can only go to the store after 10 o'clock to experience the display device.

According to the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily, scalpers who received goods offline at the Apple Direct Store on Nanjing East Road in Shanghai learned that iPhone Duo 512GB and 1TB versions generally have a price increase of 1,500-2,500 yuan. Among them, the white model has the most consumers asking about its price, and the premium is higher than the black model. A scalper told reporters that the premium may continue to fall in the future, and "the price may be different by tonight."

Online, checking second-hand platforms found that the price increase for the 256GB version ranges from about 2,000 yuan to 3,500 yuan, and the price increase for the 512GB version on the first day of release ranges from about 3,000 yuan to 4,500 yuan.

According to Sino-Singapore Jingwei, we learned from Dewu that one week after pre-sale, the price increase space for each capacity version of iPhone Duo has narrowed significantly. Specifically, the latest transaction price of the 256GB version priced at 15,999 yuan was 17,998 yuan, a premium of 1,999 yuan; the latest transaction price of the 512GB version priced at 17,999 yuan was 20,500 yuan, a premium of 2,501 yuan; the latest transaction price of the starlight white 1TB version priced at 21,499 yuan was 24,838 yuan, with a premium of 3,339 yuan.

In terms of user experience, the first batch of users who got the iPhone Duo also began to post unboxing videos to complain. There are still a large number of third-party applications that have not been adapted to the folding screen. After the inner screen is fully unfolded, some third-party apps can only be displayed in the middle area of the screen, leaving large areas of black borders on both sides; even in the folded state, some apps cannot be displayed full screen. Considering that there are currently millions of apps on the Apple App Store, it will still take time to adapt them all, and most apps will simply be stretched in the short term.

Some foreign reviewers also said that iPhone Duo has made camera compromises, including the lack of a telephoto lens, and third-party applications still need to be adapted to the new screen size. These problems may disappoint some consumers. They pointed out that the iPhone Duo's folded small screen is not as convenient as the standard iPhone for completing a large number of simple tasks that users handle every day, which has led many well-known reviewers to advise many Apple users not to buy the Duo.
