On August 27, 2026, the official Pokémon social media account was hacked on the eve of the Pokémon World Championships. This account was once used to publish cryptocurrency promotion content, which caused widespread concern and concern among the fan community.
The intrusion lasted about 30 minutes. During this period, the hacker used the official account to post a false tweet, claiming that Pokémon was celebrating its anniversary in a "new way" and launching a so-called "official Pokémon meme coin" to induce users to participate.
