Abstract:
According to Forbes, Musk’s long-term partner and executive of brain-computer interface company Neuralink, Shivon Zilis, posted on the X platform on Friday that their relationship had ended. The two have four children together.

Zillis revealed the breakup in response to a post about Musk unfollowing her. She wrote, "It's hard to accept that you went from being in love to being broken up in a week without any warning, but sometimes that's how it goes." She said she would miss Musk very much.
In this farewell statement, Zilis reflected on their experience together. She said that she had tried hard to provide Musk with stable and gentle love, hoping that he would have a place where he could rest peacefully outside of his busy and conflict-filled life.
Despite feeling lost, Zilis was grateful for the four children they had together and expressed the hope that he and Musk could become good friends and share parenting responsibilities in the future. "I am sad but still care deeply about him and will always wish him happiness," she wrote.
Zilis also released a screenshot of a text message dated September 24 along with the statement. According to "Forbes", in the screenshot, she told Musk that she was happy to have breakfast with him and expressed her love; Musk replied that he loved her too.
The two welcomed twins Strider and Azure through in vitro fertilization in 2021, daughter Arcadia in 2024, and son Seldon Lycurgus in 2025.
Zilis is currently the director of operations and special projects at Neuralink. He graduated from Yale University and has a working background in the fields of machine learning and artificial intelligence. She worked at Tesla from 2017 to 2019 and also served as an OpenAI consultant and board member.
