Abstract:
Many netizens recently posted screenshots on social media,
claiming that the 299 yuan deposit paid when registering Mobike many years ago was successfully refunded through the Meituan App
. According to Jinyun reports, Ms. Li (pseudonym), who successfully refunded the money, recalled that she tried the steps according to the steps on the evening of the 26th after seeing relevant posts on social platforms.

“On the Meituan Cycling page, click ‘Settings’ and find ‘Deposit’, and you can see it.” Ms. Li said that she always thought that only ofo’s deposit had not been refunded, but when she clicked on it, she found that it was a recharge in 2017. "I completely forgot about the Mobike deposit, and I didn't know that Mobike was acquired by Meituan before." She received the deposit a few minutes after applying for a refund. Because it was so old that the original payment method could not be traced, the money was directly returned to the balance of Meituan, but it can be withdrawn normally.

After verification, Meituan customer service confirmed that the deposit does belong to Mobike, and the refund will not affect the current deposit-free riding. In response to some netizens confusing this matter with the ofo deposit, Meituan Bicycle customer service automatically replied that ofo Bicycle has nothing to do with Meituan Bicycle, and ofo deposits are not accepted by Meituan.
Public information shows that
Mobike will refund the deposit in 2018 and has implemented deposit-free riding
. Former Mobike users can still use their account balances, riding cards and other benefits on the Meituan App. In April 2018, Meituan completed the acquisition of Mobike for US$2.7 billion. The Mobike App and mini-programs ceased services on December 14, 2020. Users will continue to use bicycle services through the Meituan App.
